TEFL Weekend Courses & One Day Teaching Seminars

Training For Your Teaching Placement: Travellers Worldwide believe in the value of training and through their training division (TEFL Time) offer you a choice of teaching courses to increase the effectiveness of your TEFL placement and make the most of your time abroad. Teacher training will also increase your confidence and give you the chance to chat with a seasoned Travellers Worldwide past teaching participant.

Your trainer will be Paul White, a qualified teacher, trainer and ecologist who has travelled the world and taken part in four Travellers Worldiwde teaching projects as well as visiting first-hand many more. The teaching courses take place in London (Kings Cross) which is convenient for national travel links and has lots of great accommodation. You have a choice of two courses: The TEFL weekend course or the one day seminar.

Change your life… in just one weekend!

Weekend TEFL courses are known throughout the world and many of Travellers Worldwide participants have gone on to get further voluntary or paid work in destinations worldwide. Everybody is welcome on this course and all Travellers Worldwide participants get a generous discount!!

The content includes:

- Essential teaching strategies
- Confidence building
- Techniques for teaching overseas
- What to expect when volunteering
- Motivating students in your classes
- Lesson planning and effective delivery
- Classroom management
- Two teaching practices
- Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking
- Course booklet and textbook
- Next steps

On completion of the course you receive a certificate and letter of reference stating the material you’ve covered and the skills you’ve gained.

After the weekend you can also continue your training with an optional distance learning course if you wish. This will go into greater depth and introduce topics not covered on the weekend course. During the courses you will submit two written assignments. When you have completed both the weekend and distance learning courses you will receive the TEFL 100 hour certificate. Intensive 1-Day Teaching Seminar

This is an alternative to the TEFL courses for those who do not want a certificated qualification. It is only available to Travellers Worldwide participants.

Seminar Content: This will provide 8 hours tuition, giving an introduction to most of the topics mentioned in the weekend TEFL course above, plus one teaching practice. A training booklet (but not textbook) is provided for you to keep.

If you can participate in one of these courses, it will add substantially to your preparation for your teaching placement and may also enable you to meet other Travellers Worldwide participants doing their placement at the same time and in the same place as you.
