iSPiiCE Mission |
iSPiiCE endeavour to directly contribute to the sustainable development of rural Indian Communities and to provide our volunteers with meaningful and socially responsible opportunities for travel, service and cultural exchange. We are always ready to assist the local community in practical ways and we aim to be flexible in the support we offer to meet specific needs within the community.

Location |
iSPiiCE program location is in Himachal Pradesh state, and more specifically the Dharamsala region (arguably one of the most spectacular regions in India). iSPiiCE base camp (where volunteers live during their stay) is set in the foothills of the Himalayan mountain range, offering magnificent views of the snow capped peaks and lush green forests.

Whats Included? |
For a minimal program fee (duration dependent) to cover in country expenses you receive the following services and inclusions:
• Airport (Delhi International) pickup and drop off.
• 3 weekend excursions in India including a 2 day trip to visit the Taj Mahal – One of the 8 wonders of the word, to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and a 2 day trek in the world famous Himalayan mountain range (home to Mount Everest -the highest mountain in the world)
• Volunteer work with communities in rural areas.
• All meals at base camp (breakfast, lunch & dinner).
• All accommodation for the duration of your placement.
• Material required for volunteer work, such as colour, pens, paper, books, sports equipment etc. (Please also feel free to bring over supplies from your home country and local institutions are always extremely low on resources).
• Use of Computer/Internet.
• All amenities for comfort and recreation at base camp, including a DVD player, books, board games.
• Cultural activities
• Certificate of service and references
• Friendship and support from the wonderful iSPiiCE team, fellow volunteers and the local community.

Requirements

iSPiiCE require motivated, enthusiastic volunteers to join the team in India to work in Community Development, Education, Social Work, Care and Health care positions. Be part of an international team of volunteers working towards improving the lives of marginalised communities.

There are no special qualifications required for most of our programs and no foreign language skills required. Typical activities will involve teaching English to women and children, teaching basic IT and Microsoft word skills, developing and delivering creative learning activities for children, caring for infants and working towards improving women’s status in Indian society.
